Attractions in Shanghai
（Wàitān, 外滩）with a length of 1.5 meters (0.93 mile) is located in the Downtown Shanghai. The Bund tells you 1930s resplendence of Shanghai---- Paris in orient. On the east of this area, you won't miss the mother river of Shanghai----Huangpu River; and on the west of it, you will see the 1930s resplendence of Shanghai proved by a row of buildings of variegated western architectures titled as 'the museum of international architecture', in detail, 52 buildings in different styles: Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism, Renaissance, Chinese and Western combined. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower
The Oriental Pearl TV Tower stands among the modern buildings in Lujiazui district, by the side of Huangpu River, opposite the bund. With the height of 468 meter, the tower is the 4th highest in Asia and 6th highest in the world, and has multiple functions of exhibition and food & beverage and shopping. It is the landmark of Shanghai city.
Huangpu River is a landmark of Shanghai, separating the city into two parts, Pudong and Puxi. With the total length of 113 km (70 mi) and the width of 300-770 m (984-2,526 ft), the river runs through over 10 districts in the city. It is regarded as the Mother River of Shanghai, serving for multiple functions including drinking water, shipping, drainage, fishery and tourism. Several submarine tunnels and bridges have been built under and on the river to provide better transportation conditions. On both sides of the river, there gather various styles of architectures and essential scenery. Famous attractions like the Bund and Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone are located along the river.

Compared with Beijing’s Hutong, Linong(lanes) are very common in old Shanghai. With high speed of modernization, lanes which have great memories about old Shanghai are gradually replaced by skyscrapers. However, when you take a Shanghai tour, you still could find a place named Tianzifang(田子坊) keeping the precious scenes of old Shanghai but also a little bit different.
